Why Shiatsu?

January 4, 2017

Shiatsu is one of many “massage” therapies that come from the “east” and is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. In translation it simply means finger-pressure and falls under the category of “acupressure”. The therapist stimulates the acupuncture points by using hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms and different parts of the body.

So how is Shiatsu so different from other acupressure techniques?

Firstly, it has a very refined system of abdominal diagnosis. Together with the use of other diagnostic systems it is used to find and correct  imbalances in the body.

Second, among the stimulation of acupuncture points it also utilizes different varieties of stretches and breathing techniques to achieve most desirable results.
